Our Teachers
Judy Barmann
Mrs. Barmann, our "Lead Panda", has been leading our 4 and 5 year olds through
their days of learning and play since 2004. Judy has 15 years of
experience teaching preschool and worked for 7 years as a kindergarten
assistant in Washington Township schools. She is a University of Illinois graduate
and has lived in Indianapolis for 30 years. She has been involved with cooperative
preschools since her own children (now grown) were co-op kids. Judy has a
passion for children's books and loves nature, pizza, chocolate, and quilting, and
of course, teaching preschool.
Carla Bidwell

Fishers Pointe since our very beginning in 1996, and was a cooperative preschool parent when her own children
attended co-op beginning in 1989. Carla has served on the Board of Directors of Parent Cooperative Preschool
International and currently serves on the board of the Indiana Council of Preschool Cooperatives.
She enjoys her dogs, watching movies, reading, painting, and has a loves co-op and co-op kids. Carla was even
a co-op kid herself!
Marlo Landis
Hi! My name is Marlo Landis. I am so excited to be teaching the Bears class this year. I have nearly 10 years
experience working with preschool age children. It is my favorite age. They have such an excitement for life
and for learning! I have a BS in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My family and I
have been members of Fishers Pointe for three years. My twin boys started out in the Cubs class and are now in
their final year. I have served on the board as the Bears Class Rep. for the last two years. I have developed
a love for Co-op and all it has to offer children in these early years of learning. I also love to read, take
pictures of my kids, and watch hockey and football with my husband.
Lynn Jones
I earned a Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from East Tennessee State University in 1996.
I also hold Bachelor’s Degrees in both Psychology and Communicative Disorders, with a minor in music. Following graduation,
I worked in geriatrics, focusing on the rehabilitation of adults with traumatic brain injury due to stroke, tumor or other
brain injury as well as patients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. After the birth of my son, I took a job with
Indiana’s First Steps program, working exclusively with children from birth to three years old who had speech and language
delays due to congenital defects, autism, and hearing loss. As a Speech/Language Pathologist, I was required to maintain
certification through continuing education programs. I also developed staff training and instruction for fellow therapists,
doctors and nurses.
In addition to my education background and training, I am also a former co-op parent. Both my son and daughter are graduates
of Fishers Pointe Co-op. As a member of the school for five years, I had various jobs, including V.P. of Parent Education,
Secretary, and President. I also worked as a substitute teacher for the preschool for the last school year. For the past four
years, I have had the opportunity to volunteer as a reading tutor at our elementary school. I am able to work with first
graders who are struggling to master the art of reading and writing. I feel my background in speech/language pathology
enables me to understand the developing needs of young children.
